Promoting good practice in
re-engagement programs
Youth Transitions Division of DEECD has engaged the Victorian Applied Learning Association (VALA) to establish a network and deliver professional development for providers of senior secondary re-engagement programs (Community VCAL and Satellite programs).
What’s the project about?
The purpose of the project is to provide teachers in re-engagement programs – who may operate with little peer or professional support – with the opportunity to:
- collaborate and share good practice with other teachers via a formal network; and
- improve their skills in delivering re-engagement programs through participation in professional development tailored to meet their needs.
What’s happening?
In the next few weeks we will be consulting with Community and Satellite VCAL programs in relation to:
- expectations of network
- preferred options for network structure
- professional development needs
- preferred method of delivery of professional development
- timing of professional development.
Have your say
Each Community and Satellite VCAL program will receive a phone call from a VALA representative.
Community and Satellite VCAL practitioners will also be able to provide input into through an online survey.
